Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially moved out of Frogmore Cottage, after being evicted by King Charles earlier this year shortly after Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare hit the shelves.

“We can confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have vacated Frogmore Cottage,” Sir Michael Stevens, Keeper of the Privy Purse, said at an annual Sovereign Grant account briefing on royal finances, according to The Independent.

King Charles Evicted Prince Harry And Meghan Markle From Frogmore Cottage

Earlier this year, it was reported that King Charles, 74, had evicted Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan Markle, 41, as well as their two children Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, from their five-bedroom Georgian house located on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

As reported by Page Six at the time, an insider allegedly confirmed that King Charles was evicting the Sussexes from the historical Frogmore Cottage, and even more controversially, was gifting it to the disgraced royal (and his younger brother) Prince Andrew. However, Prince Andrew being gifted Frogmore Cottage has still not officially been confirmed, as Sir Michael Stevens simply said: "We will not be discussing any details of the duke’s private lease arrangements here today."

The outlet also reported at the time that the monarch planned to evict his son and daughter-in-law since Prince Harry's bombshell memoir Spare hit shelves in January 2023, and even began the process one day after its release. A source told The Sun that this eviction "surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK."

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed to BuzzFeed News at the time that they were asked to move their belongings out of the property, which they have now done. It was gifted to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II after their royal wedding in 2018, and was used by the duo and their children on their trips to the UK following their 2020 move to California.

Despite the eviction, another insider noted to Page Six that Harry still has no regrets regarding his memoir. "Harry said he was really happy about the success of the book and the reaction to it," they explained, adding, "He said he had no regrets about any of the revelations, and he’s relieved to have got his story out into the world."

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Put On A Brave Face After News Of Eviction Broke

In March 2023, pictures emerged of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoying their first night out in Los Angeles since the release of Prince Harry's memoir. The two were seen dining at San Vicente Bungalows in Hollywood just hours after the news broke that King Charles reportedly evicted them from Frogmore Cottage. Meghan donned chic black leather pants, trendy pointed-toe black heels and a beige coat for their wintry date night. Harry kept it casual and stepped out in a blue tee, a gray cardigan, jeans and blue sneakers.

The former Suits star’s coat had a whimsical, breezy cut to help keep her warm as rain poured down in LA. To complete her simple, timeless and understated look, Meghan wore her long, sleek and shiny brunette tresses down, parted in the center and styled into elegant, loose waves. As for her makeup, she went for rosy blush, voluminous lashes and a glossy pink lip. To further accessorize her ensemble, the Archetypes podcast host added a black clutch. As their car pulled up outside the restaurant, paparazzi began snapping pics as Harry exited first and Meghan followed behind, smiling as a bodyguard held an umbrella open for her.
