The pair revealed their partnership with Netflix in September 2020, and this is the first project they will work on producing. The deal encapsulates a variety of content, from docuseries to children’s programs, allowing the couple room to work on their passion projects. In a statement from 2020, the pair shared that they hope to shine a light on human connection in their projects, showing “diverse communities and their environments.”

Speaking on the new series, Harry told Us Weekly, “This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year. As Archewell Productions’ first series with Netflix, in partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation, I couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead or prouder of the Invictus community for continuously inspiring global healing, human potential and continued service.”

Founded by Prince Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games allows sick or injured army servicemen the opportunity to compete in a series of events that promote rehabilitation and expose the strength of the men and women who served their country. As the founder of the event, Harry will both appear in and produce the upcoming docuseries which is set to start filming in 2022 after it was postponed due to the pandemic.

As the events were postponed last year, Harry competed in a virtual version of the events, and in a virtual meeting said, “I hope that all the nations, competitors and family and friends are coping well to support each other during this time, and I know you’ll be showing that resilience that is so central to the Invictus community.” Passion project indeed!
