You may have noticed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle making a lot of solo appearances at different events across the globe—but rest assured, this isn’t a sign of divorce. The pair are reportedly trying to separate themselves professionally, and while both claim that it’s because they enjoy their independence and are focusing their efforts on different things, most can read between the lines: most of their joint professional ventures have been flops. Keep reading for more information.
Harry & Meghan Split Professionally
While Harry and Meghan's first deals in Hollywood were as a joint brand—their television production company, Archewell, or their former podcast, Archetypes, or their Netflix deal—they have both made efforts recently to take on solo endeavors.
Harry has made a few trips to New York, Lesotho, and London for different events related to his philanthropy work, while Meghan tends to stay at home base in California to work on her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. But, the two are still romantically very much together. "They can be apart without any jealousy," a source close to the couple explained. "But it's crucial they come together as a family."
Joint Ventures Continue To Flop
While the ex-royals may claim they're professionally separating to pursue their own passions and interests, it's not hard to see that their attempts and joint ventures aren't doing too hot. Most recently, they released a mini-docuseries with Netflix called Polo about elite polo players on their journey to the U.S. Open Polo Championship. However, reviews weren't glowing, and most haven't even heard of it. Their podcast, Archetypes, was canceled, and it doesn't look like Netflix will be coming back with another deal after this one ends.
Logically, it makes sense that this was the cause of their professional separation. "Meghan got tired of always being a package deal," an insider dished. "She's long been super independent, which has caused some tension, but now she and Harry are on the same page." Hopefully their romantic relationship will last longer than their professional one!
