During the short segment, Markle stressed the importance of voting. She explained, "Every four years we are told the same thing: that this is the most important election of our lifetime. But this one is."
She continued, "When we vote, our values are put into action and our voices are heard. Your voice is a reminder that you matter, because you do and you deserve to be heard."
This is not the only step Markle is taking in encouraging voters to participate in the upcoming 2020 election.
During an interview with Access Hollywood, Gloria Steinem explained that she had cold-called voters with Markle to encourage them to make their way to the polls this November.
Since he is not a citizen, Prince Harry cannot vote in the US election, but he echoed Meghan's sentiments.
He reminded viewers to keep their values and the truth in mind when voting: "As we approach this November, it's vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity."
"It’s time to not only reflect, but act," he continued.
In response to the video, Buckingham Palace distanced the royal family from Meghan and Harry even further, explaining, "The Duke is not a working member of the Royal Family and any comments he makes are made in a personal capacity."
