Meghan Markle reportedly has some “regrets” about stepping down as a working royal, which she and Prince Harry did over four years ago.

But the 43-year-old American Riviera Orchard founder‘s biggest regret, according to To Di For Daily podcast host Kinsey Schofield, is the way in which she and Prince Harry handled their royal exit, with particular attention being drawn to the royal racist allegations she and Prince Harry made back in 2021. I.e., when they alleged that several members of the royal household made comments about Prince Archie’s skin color.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Reportedly 'Deeply Regret Royal Racist Controversy'

"Meghan does regret certain statements that she made. They weren't received in the way that she had expected and several of her comments have backfired," Schofield told Fox News Digital, in reference to the racism allegations which started in their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

"She and Prince Harry deeply regret the royal racist controversy," Schofield continued. "Meghan wanted the takeaway from their Oprah interview to be about her mental health. And I think Meghan regretted sitting down with The Cut [in 2022] because she provided endless commentary for her critics."

Schofield went on to talk about the former Suits actress's life since she and Prince Harry stepped down as working royals, calling it an "isolated but structured" life filled with a "small" friendship group consisting of friends who might be able to offer her something.

"I would describe Meghan's personal life in California as isolated but structured," Schofield claimed. "The qualifications to be her friend are no secret… she typically gravitates towards people that can offer her something, contribute to her personal goals."

"She also requires trust and privacy," Schofield continued, adding: "Her friends group is small. She is friendly with Montecito locals as you never know someone's connection or status. Everyone in Montecito has accomplished something significant to be in a position to call it home."

Although Prince Harry and Meghan do have some regrets about leaving the royal family and giving up their HRH titles, they reportedly want to make it look like they have "moved on" from all the drama the last four years have brought them.

"It is important to Meghan that it appears she has moved on, and the drama is beneath her," Schofield continued. "But that is not the reality. There is still a resentment that fuels a lot of the work she has done over the last three and a half years."

Royal Expert Says It's 'Too Late' For Prince Harry And Meghan Markle To Have Regrets

Royal biographer Angela Levin also weighed in on Prince Harry and Meghan's regrets about the racism allegations they first made in their 2021 Oprah interview.

Speaking about the Duchess of Sussex, Levin told GB News host Nana Akua: "She deeply regrets how she behaved towards the royals, and she's very sorry about saying that they were racist. I don't know if I believe it, but in any case, it's much too late, isn't it? Everybody's learned that that was nonsense, and it's no longer listened to."

Levin went on to say that their racism allegations were particularly hurtful to the late Queen Elizabeth II. "It was very, very cruel, and I think the Queen, when she had heard that, it was very painful for her," Levin continued, adding: "Because the one thing the Queen wasn't was racist, in any way or any form."
