Meghan Markle's Leather Pants Might Be Too Sexy For The Royals - But We Think They're SO Chic!

A few days ago, Meghan Markle hit up America’s Got Talent via Zoom to wish contestant Archie Williams good luck.

We’re not surprised she’s a fan, as Meghan admitted to being moved by Archie’s story in her message. Of course, the Duchess of Sussex also took the opportunity to flaunt her chic, at-home style, and we think this look is way too sexy for the royals!

Last week, the #DuchessofSussex made a surprise video appearance on America’s Got Talent, sending a special message to contestant Archie Williams. For this appearance, Meghan chose a camel-colored silk blouse by @victoriabeckham, paired with sleek black leather (or faux-leather) leggings, possibly by @aritzia. Staying true to her status as a jewelry-layering master, the duchess also wore a selection of delicate gold pieces, including her @versefinejewellery A initial necklace & bracelets by @monicavinander & @cartier. @whatmeghanwore has also identified that Meghan looks to be wearing Princess Diana’s gold Cartier Tank Francaise watch!⁣ ⁣ I think this is my favorite outfit Meghan has worn recently. The light beige of the top complemented her glowing complexion perfectly, and her hair looked amazing. The leather-look (I feel pretty confident that they are “vegan” leather) leggings were such a great choice, giving an extra-chic edge. They’re tough to pull off, and speaking as someone who made the mistake of trying them on in a store once, not for the faint of heart. These are a classic staple for Meghan, as seen in some looks from her pre- and earlier duchess days, and she wears them so well. ⁣ ⁣ The choice of the blouse also provided some nice continuity with Meghan’s other most recent looks In her previous appearance, when she and Harry spoke on the Time 100 TV special, she wore the same VB style in a darker Chestnut Brown color, with black @alexanderwang trousers and @manoloblahnik heels. And today in an interview for @evening.standard, she chose a stunning structural @glemaud top, paired with @aritzia vegan leather trousers in a coordinating shade. On camera, Meghan was dressed in a camel-colored silk shirt by Victoria Beckham and a pair of leather skinnies that she definitely wouldn’t have worn around Queen Elizabeth. Like the classy lady she is, she accessorized with tasteful gold jewelry, including her Monica Vinader bracelet.

We love that Meghan is showing off her personal style following her exit from the monarchy.

Apparently, while the former Suits star favored pants and ripped jeans pre-royal wedding, she was discouraged from wearing them once she married Harry. Meghan is known for being fiercely independent, so it's no surprise that she was frustrated by certain royal fashion rules that dictated everything from her wardrobe to her nail polish color.

During her last royal outing, Meghan even went bare-legged underneath her emerald cape dress - which is a big deal as opting to forego pantyhose is considered an unofficial breach of royal protocol. 

The  boldlook proved to everyone that while Meghan was still a Duchess, she was no longer bound by royal fashion protocol.
