Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were slammed as attention-seeking and fake last month, after they were filmed helping victims of the L.A. fires at the Pasadena Convention Center. And now, the former Suits actress has once again faced backlash for pretty much the same reason.
On Tuesday, February 4th, the 43-year-old American Riviera Orchard founder posted a video to her recently-relaunched Instagram account to talk about another way she had helped one of the victims of the L.A. fires. But it once again garnered negative feedback from the internet, as most people didn’t think she should have documented it.

Meghan Markle Posts A Video About Helping A Victim Of The LA Fires On Instagram
In the video, the With Love, Meghan star told her Instagram followers that she had spoken to the mother of one of the victims when visiting the burnt-down area of Altadena last month, who explained that her 15-year-old daughter had lost her T-shirt from the recent Billie Eilish concert in the fire.
Meghan then explained that she reached out to some of her A-list friends, including Adam Levine and his wife Behati Prinsloo, to help the teenager replace her T-shirt. And it seems to have paid off, as Meghan showed the camera the replacement merchandise that made its way to her home, some of which was even signed by the 23-year-old “What Was I Made For?” singer.
At the end of her video, the mom-of-two says: “Huge thank you Billie Eilish, this is going to mean so much to her. And honestly, to Adam Levine and Behati, you guys helped get this over the line. To everyone who is showing up for people in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in California, just thank you so much. I’m going to go and email her mom now.”

Meghan Markle Faces Backlash On Social Media
As expected, the internet had many thoughts, most of them negative, about the video.
"Meghan Markle has just dropped the most cringe video you'll ever watch in your entire life. Even if you live to be 106," wrote one non-fan on X, followed by thee throwing up emojis. "This was so sick-making I watched it 3 times," replied a second, preceded by two sideways crying laughing emojis, as a third said: "She is the most ridiculous, fame hungry, narcissistic, lying creature. Thank God she is married to the spare."
"This is not the good publicity she thought it would be," wrote a fourth X user, as someone else quipped: "Maximum cringe level activated." Another slammed: "Smeg makes an unhinged post about Billy Eilish merch & the Californian Wildlifes. NOTE Comments on this post are off. Grifters going to GRIFT."

Journalist and broadcaster Dan Wootton added: "Disaster tourist-in-chief Meghan Markle scored some free merch from Billie Eilish for a teenager impacted by the LA fires - and she actually made an entire boastful Instagram video about it. The most tone deaf and classless celebrity on the planet. I'm cringing for her."
Another unimpressed X user wrote: "Duchess of the freebie Meghan Markle, living off the riches of the royal family, scored some free Billie Eilish merch for a fire-affected teen and of course turned it into a self-congratulatory Instagram moment. The bare minimum, wrapped in self-promotion. So hard to watch."
"It's never about what #MeghanMarkle says, it's the story she's telling with her expression/ body language. That everything was messed up till she saved the day with a t shirt," commented another X user, as someone replied: "Look at that face. Her narcissistic hero complex is showing! Just wait when criticisms come because she'll switch to victim complex in a snap!" Another added: "Desperate for attention."
