Practically everything Meghan Markle wears sells out instantly after she is spotted in it. From handbags to dresses, to her favorite pair of summer sunglasses. Six months ago, back in September, Meghan Markle appeared for the first time in public with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Toronto. Within hours, her coveted tortoise sunglasses sold out.
All eyes have been on the future British royal ever since. The American actress turned soon-to-be-Duchess has been revered as a style icon, much like her (almost) sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
Meghan’s simple tortoise sunnies were from an independent British eyewear brand, Finlay & Co, which is based in West London. The eyeglasses store says their collections are “inspired by a desire to create frames which celebrate the individuality of our wearers.”
After a very long six month period, Finlay & Co finally restocked those adorable famous sunglasses. The Percy glasses, as seen on Meghan Markle, are listed online at FinlayandCo.com for $180.
The Percy sunglasses have medium size circular lenses and a simple frame. You can order them in six frame shades: light tortoise, crystal, tortoise, havanna, amber, rose. The glasses have three lens options: green, blue, and grey.
Customers have the option to engrave the Finlay & Co sunglasses for an additional $60.
When the Percy Finaly & Co sunglasses that Meghan wore sold out back in September, the independent sunglass company saw a 1000% increase in sales which resulted in a $24,609 profit practically overnight, according to Standard.co.uk. To say that Meghan has a bit of an influence in the fashion world is a huge understatement.
Finlay & Co sells a variety of different sunglass and spectacle options. The Percey frame style is one of the cheaper options.
Finlay & Co Percy ($180)
“The Percy is the most versatile shape in the collection with its rounded lenses and key-hole nose bridge. Handmade in Italy from the finest mazzucchelli acetate, using 5-barrel hinges and fitted with Carl Zeiss lenses for full UVA/UVB protection. The Percy comes complete with a uniquely foldable Finlay & Co. case and cleaning cloth.”
However, we understand that not everyone can afford to spend over $100 on a pair of sunglasses. To shop similar styles at a cheaper price, we found other round tortoise sunglasses below.
