Meghan Markle Was Reportedly 'Unhappy' About Her 'Cold' Relationship with Kate Middleton During Her Time as a Royal, Expert Claims
This isn't the first occasion where there have been signs of a chilly or strained relationship between Markle and Princess Kate, 43. As Harry, 40, wrote in his 2023 memoir, Spare, Markle once asked the Princess of Wales to borrow her lip gloss, and Kate was "taken aback." Harry wrote: "Meg asked to borrow Kate's lip gloss. An American thing."
He went on: "Meg forgot hers, worried she needed some, and turned to Kate for help. Kate, taken aback, went into her handbag and reluctantly pulled out a small tube. Meg squeezed some onto her finger and applied it to her lips. Kate grimaced. Small clash of styles maybe."
In early 2020, Harry, 40, and Markle surprised the world by declaring their intention to step down from their positions as senior members of the royal family. The pair subsequently relocated to the United States, signifying a fresh start away from royal duties.
