According to the unnamed Trump insiders, Melania compromised that if she were to get an increased "allowance" from Donald, she would begin to contribute more fully to his burgeoning presidential campaign. Around the same time as the E. Jean Carroll lawsuit went to trial, Melania requested an increase to both her monthly allowance and son Barron Trump's inheritance in return for helping the former president with his 2024 campaign. The lawsuit notably accused Donald of defamation regarding Carroll's assertion that Trump had sexually assaulted her in a department store dressing room in the 90s, an assertion the case's jury unanimously found to indeed hold water.

"[Melania] used the situation well to her advantage...and saw no reason why she shouldn’t do it again," another source said of the circumstances surrounding the Carroll lawsuit.

The compromise is good news for Donald, too: along with playing the role of supportive wife in his presidential bid, the renegotiation would also ensure the avoidance of a messy $3.2 billion divorce at the worst possible time for the campaign.

Avoiding divorce was certainly an important concern for the 2024 presidential hopeful—insiders claim that the couple had even recently started a 3-month trial separation, with Melania allegedly consulting divorce lawyers on ways forward following the ex-president's indictment...an indictment which happened to revolve around accusations of hush money paid to porn star Stormy Daniels to stay quiet about an alleged extramarital affair between the actress and Donald himself during his marriage to Melania.

One source said Melania never "had any aspirations to be first lady and was disgusted by the allegations of Donald's cheating that emerged during the campaign. She is content to live a life of luxury in return for being available for appearances' sake, which is all that Donald asks of her in return."
