The Trump family are continuing to make headlines at the moment – and Melania Trump is also included.
The former First Lady, whose already-widely-mocked self-titled memoir comes out on October 8th, has once again come under fire for promoting patriotically-themed necklaces on social media, just a few months after facing backlash for the same reason.
Melania Trump Promotes $600 'Vote Freedom' Necklace On Instagram
Back in May, the mom-of-one was accused of trying to "profit" from deceased veterans when she reposted an advert from the USA Memorabilia collection in promotion of its Fortitude collection, which featured a pair of necklaces in either 'Bravery' or 'Liberty' versions. And she seems to have angered the internet yet again!
On September 23rd, the Slovenian-American former model posted an advert for a limited-edition gold 'Vote Freedom' necklace on her Instagram account, which supposedly celebrated Lady Liberty. She simply shared a link to her website, where fans could buy the necklace, in the caption, without providing any more information.
According to the website Melania directed her followers to: "Vote Freedom is a limited edition, gold vermeil necklace celebrating Lady Liberty with the option of a digital collectible."
Melania Trump Dragged As A 'Grifter' On Social Media
As expected, the internet had a lot to say following Melania's latest post, with many people also mocking her for releasing her memoir.
Vote freedom – don't vote Trump," wrote one of her followers. "Is this all going to your divorce fund? What's the grift?" asked a second, as a third exclaimed: "Why wasn't your book title, 'the story of a peasant girl who blew her way to first lady.' Grifter extraordinaire!"
"Melania is getting in on the grift," quipped a fourth, as a fifth asked: "When do the Trumps ever stop grifting? Can't be that rich as they're always trying to sell some [expletive.]"
"Here we go again. Shoes, bibles, digital art, coins… etc. Trumps have ZERO shame," commented another. "Omgggg grifting to cash in before she's no longer relevant to ANYONE. This is ridiculously hilarious," noted another, preceded by five crying laughing emojis.
The harsh comments continued over on X. "The First Lady of grift. Now Melania Trump is hawking an ugly necklace to her MAGA fans. Oh, it's $600. The rubes will buy it, then complain about inflation. She's as tacky as her husband," wrote one disgruntled X user.
"A family of grifters," replied one X user. "They are all such grifters," echoed another. "The Trump family is really trying to cash in between now and November. Grifters got to grift," someone else commented, as another X user said the necklace is "so cheap and tacky." They then asked: "Who would buy that garbage?"
