Melania Trump Is 'Angry' Over Her Husband's Hush Money Payments And Cheating Scandal
Sources told People that Melania Trump was angry the hear about her husband's hush money payments and affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels, who he reportedly paid $130,000 through his then-lawyer Michael Cohen to keep quiet ahead of his 2016 campaign trail. Daniels claimed the affair happened four months after Melania gave birth to their son Barron in 2006.
It's unclear what Melania knew of the affair, but it is certainly painful to be facing old wounds and to do so publicly. "She remains angry and doesn't want to hear [the alleged hush money payment] mentioned," a source told People before Donald Trump faced indictment.
It Is Now 'Uncomfortable' For Melania Trump To Support Donald Trump's Political Campaign
Amidst the scandals and criminal charges, Melania Trump has not been seen standing by her husband's side as Trump sets out on the campaign trail once again. "Melania is not now or hasn't recently taken part in her husband's political events," said the source to People. "It is not comfortable for her."
Melania reportedly enjoys a separate life away from Donald Trump, according to sources from The Mirror and People. As drama continually unfolds in the Trump family (Ivanka too is "distancing" herself from her father), Melania Trump is staying out of the chaos.
"She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends," said the source.
"Melania can be aloof and not particularly friendly because she simply wants to be left alone," the source told People. "At this stage of her life she does not want to be in the spotlight," they said.
Melania Trump Is Focused On Taking Care Of Her Son Barron
Despite Melania Trump reportedly feeling upset with her husband's criminal acts, she is keeping focused on her family and her 17-year-old son, Barron. "Melania does what is expected and wants Barron to have as much protection around him as possible," said the source.
Considering Melania Trump was caring for 4-month-old Barron as her husband was allegedly engaging in extra-marital affairs, it's not surprising the former first lady continues to put her son first amidst the re-surfaced scandal.
"Melania's normally quiet and [her] in-the-background manner has served her well in the series of scandals plaguing her husband. I assume this will continue," the source continued.
Melania might be taking care of the family as her husband attends to the courts and a political campaign, but the former president claims he still has his family's support as he faces legal battles.
In his first speech after his arraignment, where he pleaded "not guilty" to 34 felony counts, Donald Trump thanked his children, saying, "I have a son here who's done a great job and I have another son here who's done a great job; and Tiffany, and Ivanka. And Baron will be great someday. He's tall and smart. But I have a great family and they've done a fantastic job and we appreciate it very much."
But as reported by People, the former president left out any mention of his wife, which could serve as further evidence of Melania's disapproval and distance from her husband.
