Grisham wrote that the politician reportedly visited the White House for an unscheduled visit with his family shortly after coming out of hospital; and when Melania was asked if she would like to greet the Scalises, who were patiently waiting in the Blue Room of the White House, she replied with a very short and blunt answer.

"Her response was, 'No, I already said hello,'" Grisham wrote, referring to the time Melania and her husband visited Scalise at the hospital when he was recovering from the shooting. According to Grisham, the former First Lady's response became a running inside joke among some of the staff in the East Wing. "Whenever the first lady said no to something, we would say to each other, 'Well, she already said hello!'" How funny!

Grisham's book promises to be full of behind-the-scenes info about life in the White House. She served as Melania's chief of staff before becoming the third Trump White House press secretary from July 2019 to April 2020, following Sean Spicer and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
