Fashion Week may be over, but we’re still obsessing over the trends and silhouettes from this season! The SS25 shows always hit right after our sun-kissed European getaways, when tan lines are fresh and memories of sipping cappuccinos along the coast are still lingering. One show that really brought back those dreamy Euro vibes? Michael Fausto’s SS25 collection.

Making his grand debut on the CFDA Fashion Week Calendar, Fausto wowed the crowd on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, with a collection that practically screamed Italian glamour. Vibrant colors, bold patterns, and all-around luxury had us reminiscing about that fast-paced, high-society Milan party girl living it up in southern Italy. Turns out, that’s pretty much what Fausto envisioned when designing his debut.

His inspiration? A stylish socialite sent to slow down and soak up coastal Italian life. “The SS25 collection, Castellammare, follows the summer of an Italian debutante as she explores ‘la dolce vita,'” Fausto shared in a press release. “Our party girl is whisked away to her family’s palazzo in Sicily, where the luxurious, historic surroundings begin to blend with her big city style. The result? A mix of the fast and slow, the old and new, sleekness meets the unexpected.”

Playful, Vibrant Skirts

At the show, models brought this vision to life with looks that captured the essence of coastal Italy. A brunette beauty spun around in a ballroom-style gown, flaunting a scallop-patterned bodice with a daringly low neckline, paired with a playful teal skirt.

Patterned Pleated Skirts

Another standout look? A modest high-neck, long-sleeve black top paired with a pleated blue-and-white skirt, seamlessly combining minimalist city chic with laid-back coastal flair.

The Peplum Trend Is Here To Stay

And yes, the peplum trend is still going strong! We saw many A-listers such as Selena Gomez and Florence Pugh take the jump to showcase their takes on the peplum trend over the last year.

One cream-colored two-piece set from Fausto's show featured a strappy peplum corset top, perfectly matched with—you guessed it—a billowy, pleated skirt.

Fausto delivered a masterclass in blending high fashion with carefree seaside elegance, and we’re absolutely here for it!
