Michelle Obama Slammed As ‘Elitist’ And ‘Corrupt’ After Posting ‘Gloomy’ Video Ahead Of Donald Trump’s Inauguration: ‘What A Joke’

Michelle Obama was one of the many political figures who joined Kamala Harris on her campaign trail as she sought to beat Donald Trump in the presidential election. For her annual post wishing her fans a happy holiday season, the former First Lady acknowledged that for many, this is not a very “happy” holiday season, and sought to uplift some of those individuals with a post celebrating the work of many young “changemakers” to inspire hope.

However, many people in her comment section did not receive her message that way, and instead criticized her for being “gloomy” and “corrupt.” Keep reading for more information.

“Happy holidays!” she began in the video. “I know it’s been a difficult few months for so many of us—and folks are feeling a little bit anxious and uncertain. But even during these tough times, there are plenty of reasons to stay hopeful.”

In her caption, she wrote “I wanted to share some reflections on the work the Obama Foundation is doing to lift up the young change-makers around the world,” and filled the rest of the video with clips of different people around the world and the different work they’ve done over the recent months.” An innocent video, one would think, but it seems it fell to the wrong audience.
