Michelle Obama Wants To Flee The U.S.
A source close to Michelle explained to The U.S. Sun that the mother-of-two had to give up a lot of her aspirations, at least for the time being, while she supported her husband's political career. Now that the political era of their lives is over (for the most part), she's putting her energy back into herself.
"Michelle has been wanting a lot lately to do things for her, to fulfill some dreams and life goals that she has been having but couldn't really fulfill due to her life and because of her husband's responsibilities," the source explained. "But lately, she has been doing things for her, and she has a dream that she has been having since she was a teenager about living out of America for a bit, and spend time in another continent, like Europe."
"She loves France, Italy, Spain, Greece, all those Mediterranean countries where the pace of life is slower, and things are simpler," the source added. "She is really interested by this possibility, to go there for some months, I don't know if Barack would join her or not, but she really would love to live this kind of experience as soon as possible."
Escaping Divorce Rumors?
Making these plans to live abroad—with or without her husband—could definitely be seen as evidence on the side of those divorce rumors that have been swirling recently.
Most of these rumors derive from the fact that Michelle has been notably missing from several public appearances her husband made this year. On January 9th, she did not attend President Jimmy Carter's funeral. Days later, she was absent from Donald Trump's inauguration as well. Then again in March, Barack attended a Los Angeles Clippers game without his wife.
Then, of course, there are the Jennifer Aniston affair rumors, which the Friends star herself has shut down on live television. While on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she clarified to fans that she's only met the former president "once."
The Becoming author herself has shut down these divorce rumors as well, appearing on an episode of Sophia Bush's iHeart Radio podcast, Work in Progress. She was talking of her newfound independence since leaving the white house in 2017. Despite the joy she's finding in pursuing her own goals, she's felt the negative effects as well.
"That's the thing that we as women struggle with—disappointing people," she said. "i mean, so much so that this year people couldn't even fathom that I was making a choice for myself. That they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing."
