During her appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Cyrus did not shy away from some of the more controversial questions, including those about her failed marriage.
She explained that her reasons for getting married were not what they should have been, telling Stern that her Malibu house fire was a huge factor in her decision to marry Hemsworth.
After losing many of her favorite belongings in the fire, Cyrus felt the need to hold onto what she could.
"I just clung to what I had left of that house, which was me and him," she said.
That does not mean that she regrets her relationship with the Aussie actor. In fact, during the interview, she admitted that she will "always" love him.
She said, "And I really do and did love him very, very, very much and still do, always will."
However, according to Cyrus, love was not enough to keep their marriage strong, adding that there was "too much conflict."
"When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone," she explained. "I don’t get off on drama or fighting."
Throughout their conversation, Cyrus also confirmed that at least one song from her new album, Plastic Hearts, was definitely about her ex-husband: "WTF Do I Know?"
One of the lyrics in the song, "I don't even miss you," has definitely stirred the pot when it comes to her relationship with her ex, but Cyrus explained that it was not as malicious or insensitive as it might seem.
She explained, "Sometimes you miss people more than others, and sometimes, things get easier. Time kind of heals all, but that was at a time where I felt really strong. And then some days I don’t."
