Fans Are Losing It After Miley Cyrus Says Her Mom Used To Make Her Wear ‘250’ Hair Extensions: ‘She Looked Unquestionably Amazing’

During her rise to fame in the mid-2000s on Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus once had a serious commitment to her hair extensions, largely at her mother Tish Cyrus’ request. In a recent episode of Harper’s Bazaar’s The Good Buy podcast, the “Flowers” hitmaker, 32, shared that she once wore 250 individual extensions.

At the time, the “Jaded” singer was often seen in fringed outfits, but she eventually felt it was excessive. Hair experts typically advise using 75 to 200 extensions based on the desired thickness and length, with only those having very thick, long hair needing more than 200. Reflecting on her hair evolution, Miley’s fans are now looking back at those extensions and her overall transformation.

On the podcast, the Grammy winner revealed: "I love fringe. I will always stand by fringe; I love fringe forever, but there was an era of mine where the fringe would go from under the bust down to the bottom of the boot, and it was wearing me. I also had 250 individual hair extensions, and so there was a lot of, like, down." She subsequently pointed towards her ankles.

"If it was under 250, my mom wasn’t having it," Miley went on. "Tish [Cyrus] would say we need another row. Tish would be like, ‘Take another row up.’ We would have 250." Miley continued by saying that hairstylists today "don't even" add that much extra hair to their clients' styles. "The kind of hair extensions that we had, they don’t even do these anymore."

While Miley didn't specify the exact time she sported 250 extensions, Us Weekly suggests it was in 2010 during the fourth season of Hannah Montana, when she flaunted thick, waist-length hair. During this season, her co-stars, such as Jason Earles, often made jokes about her locks. Social media followers also concurred with this timeline.

On Instagram, after learning about Miley's extensions, one user recently wrote: "So that’s why her hair always looked fabulous! I’m with Tish on this one I’m sorry….Miley looked unquestionably amazing." Another added: "Those extensions had those checks rolling in." One other noted: "I loved her hair long like that." Someone else replied: "Well, it worked."
