Miley Cyrus has evolved from a Disney darling to a full-fledged rockstar, and many of her fans feel like they’ve grown up with her. Over time, the “Flowers” hitmaker’s appearance has undergone physical transformations that have led to speculation about whether she’s had plastic surgery.
Last week, the “Jaded” singer, 30, shared photos of herself sporting a new hair color – a return to her natural brunette locks after ten years. While some fans appreciated her latest style, others questioned if she had undergone a cosmetic procedure due to perceived differences in her facial appearance. This has prompted many to compare Cyrus’s current look to past photographs from 2013.

Miley Cyrus’ Beauty Evolution From 2013 To 2023
For the past ten years, Cyrus experimented with different lengths and highlight colors, but consistently sported blonde hair. As seen in her September 24th Instagram post for her 215 million followers, she just returned to her roots with her natural hair color. Many fans praised her “gorgeous” new ‘do and timeless beauty, and other commenters began to speculate whether any “differences” in her facial appearance were due to her possibly going under the knife.
“What happened to your face?!!” one wrote as another added that her face looked “stuck.” Someone else replied: “omg what happened to your lips” as one other commented: “Has anyone else noticed Miley’s facial change?” While Cyrus has not addressed these recent plastic surgery rumors, she did shoot down claims that she got lip injections and breast augmentation over a decade ago.
In December 2011, the Last Song actress responded to a fan account on Twitter and stressed that she never got plastic surgery in her chest area. "Thank you for the compliment but these babies are all mine. I wish they’d realize you don’t have to be fake to be beautiful," she wrote at the time.
One year later, Cyrus also took to Twitter to set the record straight when it came to lip injection rumors. "Definitely don’t get my lips injected," she wrote in August of 2012. "It’s so sad that people have done so much s—t to their face people don’t believe in natural beauty," she continued.
Throughout the years, it's no secret that Cyrus' fans have been in awe of her radiant, glowing and supple skin. In 2022, the "Used To Be Young" artist sat down with Elle, and opened up about her skincare journey. "I finally realized that something that works for someone else might not work for me, so I saw a dermatologist and learned that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution to skincare. I basically have it down to a science these days," she revealed.
Despite rumors of plastic surgery, Cyrus emphasized that taking care of her mental wellbeing has been the key to achieving clear skin. She added: "Taking care of yourself from the inside out is so important. Your beauty routine is a form of self-love because it means you’re taking time out of your day to check in with yourself, mentally and physically."
