3 Morning Supplements Everyone Should Be Taking Daily To 'Slow Down Aging'

As we age, our bodies naturally begin to slow down in ways that impact everything from energy levels to skin elasticity and joint health. While no supplement can completely stop the aging process, certain morning supplements may help support the body’s natural defenses against it. Packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and anti-inflammatory compounds, these daily boosters can promote healthier skin, improve cell regeneration, and reduce visible signs of aging—especially when taken consistently as part of a balanced routine.

Robert Love, a neuroscientist, recently shared three morning supplements he takes daily for optimal health and to “reverse” and even “slow down aging.” According to him, NMN, resveratrol, and quercetin are the “really good” supplements to slow down this process.

1. NMN

NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) supplements have gained popularity for their potential anti-aging benefits, largely due to their role in supporting cellular energy and repair.

“It’s a precursor to NAD. NAD is an energy source used in basically every cell in your body, similar to ATP. If you don’t have NAD, you basically die within 30 seconds, so having more NAD not only increases your energy but also helps slow down aging,” Dr. Love says.

2. Resveratrol

Resveratrol supplements are often touted as anti-aging powerhouses—and for good reason. This natural compound, found in red grapes, berries, and peanuts, may help slow down aging at the cellular level by targeting the processes that drive age-related decline.

In a study by Dr. David Sinclair from Harvard, “the mice who lived the longest in his study of resveratrol were the ones who took resveratrol every other day.” Noted!

3. Quercetin

The last supplement he recommends to “promote longevity” and slow down aging is quercetin. This is a supplement that’s “anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant, and is believed to protect or enhance” SIRT1.

Resveratrol is known to activate sirtuins, particularly SIRT1—enzymes involved in DNA repair, inflammation reduction, and cellular health. These sirtuins help regulate how cells age and respond to stress, which can promote longer, healthier cell life.

“It basically protects our DNA,” says Love.
