1. Aquaman
For all DC lovers out there, Aquaman is coming to Netflix! A superhero film about Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, the film explores themes of identity, duty, and finding balance between two lives.
The story begins with Arthur, a half-human, half-Atlantean, living on the surface world, unaware of his royal heritage. However, he is reluctantly drawn into the underwater kingdom of Atlantis when his half-brother, Orm seeks to unite the seven underwater kingdoms to wage war against the surface world. Orm believes that the surface dwellers have polluted the oceans and seeks to take revenge.
So, Arthur sets out to find the Trident of Atlan so he can stop Orm's destructive plans, facing different challenges and confronting his own doubts about his destiny.
2. Jurassic Park
Jurassic Park is a science fiction adventure film that will entertain anybody, regardless of age or interest—it brings dinosaurs back from extinction! The film follows a billionaire named John Hammond who creates a theme park called Jurassic Park on a remote island. The park features genetically engineered dinosaurs brought back to life using DNA preserved in ancient amber.
To address safety concerns, John invites a group of experts to visit the island. During their tour, the park's security systems fail, allowing the dinosaurs to roam freely. The group must navigate the island, dealing with the dangers posed by the escaped dinosaurs.
3. Mamma Mia!
Mamma Mia! is the perfect movie to watch on a girls-night-in: a romantic comedy set on a dreamly Greek island set to iconic songs from ABBA. It doesn't get any better than that!
The movie stars Amanda Seyfried as Sophie Sheridan, who is about to get married. She discovers her mother's old diary, which reveals that she has three potential fathers. Determined to find out who her real father is, Sophie invites all three men to her wedding without telling her mother, Donna, who's played by Meryl Streep.
As the wedding approaches, there are comedic and heartfelt moments as secrets are revealed, relationships are rekindled, and the characters navigate the complexities of love and family. The film is known for its vibrant musical performances, beautiful Greek island scenery, and a feel-good atmosphere.
4. School of Rock
A classic musical comedy, School of Rock is a perfect movie to watch as a family, plus it stars Jack Black, so you know it's going to be hiliarious. Jack Black plays Dewey Finn, a passionate but unsuccessful rock musician who is kicked out of his band, and out of all other options, he accepts a substitute teaching position at a prestigious elementary school.
However, instead of teaching the traditional curriculum, Dewey decides to form a rock band with his young students. He discovers their musical talents and starts training them to compete in the Battle of the Bands competition, all while keeping his unconventional teaching methods a secret from the school administration and the students' parents.
5. Justice League
Once again DC fans will be pleased with this addition to the streaming platform. Justice League brings together iconic DC Comics superheroes to save the world from a formidable threat. As Earth faces an impending invasion by the powerful alien Steppenwolf, Batman and Wonder Woman seek to assemble a team of metahumans to combat this extraterrestrial threat.
6. John Wick
John Wick is an action thriller film starring Keanu Reeves as John Wick, a retired hitman seeking vengeance for the death of his beloved dog, a gift from his recently deceased wife. Devastated, John Wick comes out of retirement to seek justice, relentlessly pursuing his enemies in a series of action packed and intense scenes.

7. Annabelle
Annabelle is perfect for horror movie junkies: a classic doll-related scary story. It's actually a spin-off and prequel to The Conjuring. The story revolves around a vintage dollmaker and his wife whose daughter Annabelle dies tragically in a car accident. A few years later, the couple opens their home to a group of orphaned girls and a nun. However, eerie events begin to occur, especially after one of the girls finds a possessed vintage doll that used to belong to Annabelle.
As the paranormal activity intensifies, the girls and the nun find themselves targeted by a demonic entity. They seek the help of a skilled dollmaker, who had initially created Annabelle, and a priest to confront the evil force and protect themselves from its sinister intentions.
8. How to Train Your Dragon
This animated children's classic takes place in a Viking village called Berk that is regularly attacked by dragons, and the villagers are set on hunting and killing them. However, the main character, Hiccup, can't bring himself to kill one, and befriends them instead, naming the one he found Toothless.
Hiccup and Toothless develop a strong bond as they learn from each other. Hiccup discovers that dragons are not the mindless monsters everyone believes them to be. Together, they challenge the traditional Viking mindset and work to bridge the gap between humans and dragons.
