MTV took a trip down memory lane this month with the MTV Movie & TV Awards: Greatest of All Time Special. The special honored the best TV shows and movies over the past forty years, and plenty of our favorite stars came to celebrate as well.
Although red carpets are few and far between in 2020, these A-listers more than made up for it with their MTV appearances–and they chose extremely daring dresses for the occasion.

Lily Collins opted for a bold latex dress for the event that was as eye-catching as it was expensive, costing $2900. Luckily, the Saint Laurent gown looked incredible on the actress.
The Emily in Paris star was looking forward to the event, sharing her excitement on Instagram: “All dressed up… with somewhere to go for a change! Excited to hit that socially distanced carpet later and present at the #MTVMovieAwards tonight…”
During the show, the 31-year-old presented the award for Most Heartbreaking Break Up, which went to Kristen Bell and Jason Segel’s split in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Vanessa Hudgens

The host of the special, Vanessa Hudgens, was also dressed to impress. The actress seemed to channel Posh Spice for the night, putting her hair in a pin straight bob and wearing a tiny mini dress.
The strapless Versace mini dress was only Hudgens’ first outfit of the night, but it might have made the most lasting impression on viewers. It showed off the 31-year-old’s stellar figure, and the hemline left very little to the imagination. To elevate the look, the Princess Switch star paired it with sky high Casadei heels.
Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter also brought her A-game when it came to dressing for the event.
She opted for a sheer mesh gown by Ralph & Russo for the night’s festivities, and she just might be the best-dressed of the bunch. The Work It star’s asymmetrical dress was a total show-stopper, and left more people talking about her risqué outfit than the awards themselves–and can you really blame them?
Sofia Carson

Not to be outdone, Sofia Carson also opted for an LBD when it came to pick a dress for the event.
The Descendants star chose a Valentino Resort 2021 gown for the occasion: a strapless, sequined dress that was the perfect glam look for the red carpet. Although the dress is technically floor length, the skirt is almost entirely sheer, making the look seriously scandalous.
