Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) season is here and it's in full swing. Some of us can't get enough of the fall-favorite drink, and it's not hard to see why. Thankfully, chains like McDonald's have embraced the PSL trend and offer it at a cheaper price. But, some employees say that the popular drink shouldn't be ordered from fast food restaurant. In fact, they revealed that the McCafe machine isn't the cleanest equipment in the store...

Like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, this machine is used to make everything on its McCafe menu -- including your favorite PSL. One employee took to Reddit to tell customers what they should and should not order from the popular fast food restaurant, where she revealed that the McCafe machines are "horrifically dirty" and rarely cleaned.
"I work for McDonald’s and make sure everyone that matters to me never orders anything that comes out of the McCafe machine, as these are routinely neglected in practically all the McDonald's," the employee said, according to Huffington Post. "All McCafe beverages run through a horrifically dirty machine -- we’re talking 5+ inches of uncleaned, liquid making up its inside parts."
Yeah, that's definitely not how we want our PSL being made. The employee went on to explain that is due to the fact that most employees and staff members aren't properly trained on how to clean the machines. "Not only [is the] staff not properly trained in its cleaning and maintenance at almost every McDonald's I’ve had experience with, but the managers in charge of training them don’t know [how to] either," they continued.
Wow, who knew that the McCafe machines could be so dirty? We're sure this employee's story can't be applied to every McDonald's out there, right? But, you can bet that we're definitely going to ask our cashier when the McCafe machine was cleaned last when ordering our next PSL -- and we hope you will, too!
