McDonald's is home to some of the most iconic menu items in all of fast food history. Among these famous foods is the Fish Fillet sandwich. It's been on the Mickey D's menu since 1965 and has become a go-to sandwich for many across the world. Despite it being so well-known, employees have revealed that the sandwich doesn't get much love. In fact, the sandwich is known for NEVER being served fresh...

"I used to work at McDonald's. Don't order our fish patties," a former employee warned customers on Reddit. "No one ever does and I swear some days we'd make a batch and it would sit there all day until someone ordered some."

This wasn't the only Mickey D's employee who had a fishy experience with the Fillet-O-Fish patties. When asked what customers should avoid when eating at McDonald's, another employee said, "Fish fillet from McDonald's. I've seen those things sit there for hours before getting served."
These accounts may seem gross, but none of them compare to the story that Reddit user SGkurisu had to share about the fish patties. "My McDonald's kept the fish sandwiches in a super dirty cabinet and spent, like, five seconds cooking it when it actually gets ordered," they said.
Wow, these employees really don't want us to order the Fillet-O-Fish. Their message has been well-recieved!
We're sure that these fish fillet stories don't apply to all of the McDonald's out there. But, you can bet that we're going to be asking for our Fillet-O-Fish sandwiches to made fresh next time...
