Tiger Woods is still recovering after his traumatic car crash nearly six months ago, and now the pro athlete has shared news of his progress. In new photos that just surfaced, Woods is seen putting weight on his injured leg – a major step in his recovery!
He was photographed in Los Angeles, walking on crutches with his right leg in a brace. It looks as though Woods is walking on both legs, with assistance from his crutches. This is a significant development, as his right leg had to be surgically repaired back in February.
Woods has not recently shared any new updates on his recovery, though these photos seem promising!
Woods was involved in a single-car collision in Los Angeles on February 23. His car rolled over, resulting in him suffering significant orthopedic injuries to his right leg.
The golfer was treated at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where surgeons responded to his comminuted open fractures, additional injuries to the foot and ankle and trauma to the muscle and soft-tissue of the leg.
He has since been recovering in Florida, receiving physical therapy to help him use his leg again. And the rehabilitation process has not been easy.
Woods recently revealed to Golf Digest, "This has been an entirely different animal. I understand more of the rehab processes because of my past injuries, but this was more painful than anything I have ever experienced."
And despite Woods' strides in recovery, the athlete is still unsure if he will ever play golf again. When specifically asked by Golf Digest what lies ahead for his career, Woods had no comment.
He did note that for the time being, "My physical therapy has been keeping me busy. I do my routines every day and am focused on my number one goal right now: walking on my own.”
