Nicole Kidman keeps her life relatively private and out of the public eye, but the actress opened up about her family recently during a Glamour interview.

“The Undoing” actress talked about how motherhood has taken on new challenges during the pandemic, specifically when it comes to her two youngest daughters, Sunday Rose, 12, and Faith, 9.

Kidman spoke about how her children, like most children right now, had to adapt to learning during the pandemic. Luckily, her kids are used to online schooling.

She told the magazine, "Our kids – because we travel, and we won't be apart – are used to having to learn online."

However, that does not mean that schooling during Covid has been easy for them. Kidman continues, "But the social distance has been very difficult for them. They are working through the emotions. For a 12-year-old, it’s about not being able to access friends easily – that's a whole thing which every parent will be going through. And then, there's a nine-year-old, who's socially forming. One of the hardest things is just watching them pine and yearn for their friends."

"I pine and yearn for my friends too," she adds.

She has also relied on her extended family to help with her kids throughout the pandemic.

She told Marie Claire, "My sister’s staying over and my mum’s helping; I don’t have that help in Nashville so that’s been incredible. We never leave the kids, one of us is always there. When Keith went to Nashville and I had to work late nights, I rang Ant and asked her to move in with the girls and she did, and bought along her kids."

"That’s special. It’s the nature of what we’re all having to do now – you get to be commune-like; this extended family where you’re all raising each other’s kids together. We’ve all had to go back to basics, and this year has required it because people are pleading for help," she continues.

Kidman has also been open about the importance of sticking to the expert guidelines when it comes to fighting coronavirus.

She told the Daily Telegraph, "We just hunkered down and did what we were told. We’ve watched friends go to hell and back and have watched the world navigate this together, and I think we are all just going, 'Is this really happening?'"

She adds, "Keith and I have that conversation where we go, 'I can't even believe this has happened.'"
