Nicole Kidman Relaxes In Paris Despite Balenciaga Backlash
The 57-year-old attended the Balenciaga Fashion show with her good friend and actress Naomi Watts as well as her 15-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose, whom she shares with her husband of 18 years, country music megastar Keith Urban.
To fit into the glitz and glamour of the show, Kidman wore a short-sleeved, floor-length gown that looked as if it was painted onto her body. It hugged her figure so well, highlighting her slim waist and enviable curves. She let the shimmering dress do all the sparkling necessary, adding a black pair of sunnies as her only accessory.
Despite dressing it all the way up for the main even, Kidman also shared snaps on her Instagram story of how she dresses it down to relax and enjoy the scenery in Paris. She uploaded a shot of her standing makeup-free in a luxe bathrobe on her hotel balcony to her Instagram story, looking just as effortlessly beautiful as she did at the Balenciaga event.
The Balenciaga Controversy
The A Family Affair actress attended the Balenciaga show without a care in the world, not letting the controversy get to her despite pleas from fans to address it. What is there to address? Well, back in 2022, Balenciaga released a highly controversial campaign that references child pornography and featured child models alongside fetish imagery. The brand was immediately canceled by fans, and many still hold that grudge.
While other faces of Balenciaga released statements on Instagram, namely Kim Kardashian, a steadfast supporter of the brand over the years, Nicole Kidman remained silent, either unbothered by the scandal or unaffected by fans calls for her to drop her support for the fashion house.
Fans Call Out Nicole Kidman For Partnering With Balenciaga
Even two years later fans are still calling out Nicole Kidman for her support of the company. Kidman posted numerous photos on Instagram of her and her friends at the Balenciaga fashion show, and while most comments were compliments from adoring fans, others still haven't given up their fight against Balenciaga.
"I can't believe any of these people support it still," one person said. "I can't believe our society anymore. Literally EVERYTHING is OK to them. They should all be ashamed of themselves."
"Why are people still supporting and aligning themselves to a brand who used minors inappropriately in its marketing?" another asked.
"Wow who would even support this brand?" agreed another. "This is crazy."
"And she brings her daughter to the show?" a final fan noted. "Did she somehow black out and forget about the child pornography ad?"
