Fans Are Doing A Double Take After Nicole Kidman Shares Behind-The-Scenes Photos From 'Expats' Series
One fan commented: "what she did to her face" with a surprised emoji as another added: "What has she done to her lips." On X (formerly Twitter), some fans shared similar thoughts after catching the first few episodes of the drama miniseries. "I’ve watched 2 episodes of Expat with Nicole Kidman. Refuse to watch anymore because of her ridiculous, stiff, emotionless, plastic face," one recently wrote.
Someone else added: "haven’t finished it yet & though in general like Nicole Kidman’s frantic performance and am amazed at how youthful she looks in repose, in the morgue scene when she laughs, her face becomes all contorted and you can see how deformed by surgery her face is. Sad."
One other also tweeted, regarding the Big Little Lies actress: "I just invested 6 hours in #expats on @PrimeVideo just waiting to see any facial expression on Nicole Kidman’s face. Such a shame as she’s a decent actress but it’s almost eerie to watch her waiting for any part of her face to move. Plot was good though."
Another X user agreed, adding: "I was watching Expats last night and couldn't help thinking, what has happened to Nicole Kidman's face?"
The Eyes Wide Shut star has not acknowledged these new comments, fresh plastic surgery rumors or Botox claims. In 2008, the Oscar winner credited her stunning complexion and timeless beauty to a healthy lifestyle and skincare routine.
"To be honest, I am completely natural I have nothing in my face or anything," she dished to Marie Claire while discussing injections and fillers. The Moulin Rouge! alum added: "I wear sunscreen, and I don’t smoke. I take care of myself. And I’m very proud to say that.”
In 2011, Kidman confessed to trying Botox, but explained that she wasn't happy with the outcome. "I didn’t like how my face looked afterward. Now I don’t use it anymore -- I can move my forehead again," she shared at the time.
Regardless, other fans in Kidman's comments section shared how much they admired her performance and the series itself. "Loved it. Can’t wait for the next episode," one wrote as another added: "I started to watch the show, first 2 episodes, great, great." Someone else concurred: "Ohh…it’s so good! Your character is so dynamic, as per usual."
On January 26th, the six-part series made its debut and the last episode (released on February 23rd) is now accessible for streaming on Prime Video. On Expats, Kidman's character is plagued with a burdening guilt and deep loneliness in Hong Kong in 2014. The gripping series also stars Never Have I Ever actress Sarayu Blue and Jurassic World actor, Brian Tee.
