Nicole Kidman had a night to remember, basking in pride and celebration as she received the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, on Saturday, April 27. Decked out in a jaw-dropping gold Balenciaga dress that could light up the room, the Big Little Lies icon ensured all eyes were on her.
The curve-hugging gown had a long train which she held with one hand while posing for pictures. With her signature blonde locks elegantly styled in a side part and sporting a luscious glossy pink lip, Kidman was ready to shine on her big night.
According to AFI’s website, the award recognizes individuals “whose career in motion pictures has greatly contributed to the enrichment of American Culture.”

Nicole Kidman Gives A Heartfelt Speech During AFI Lifetime Achievement Award
During her speech, the Balenciaga ambassador thanked her family for their continued love and support throughout her career, saying, "And then right there is the love of my life, and the loves of my life. My daughters have never been anywhere publicly with me on a red carpet, tonight was their first night, so they're here, Sunday and Faith."
She also gave a heartfelt shoutout to her mother, who unfortunately couldn't make it to the event, as well as remembering her father, who passed away in 2014. "they said there's a live stream available for [mom] and she's watching it, so I hope, and that's what I love about technology. And my papa who isn't here, but I feel him every day."
The Expats star thanked her extended family as well, graciously stating, "And then there's all my nieces and nephews and my sissy and my beautiful aunt and her husband, who's our family now. And I am really, this is all because of you, and I love you so much. So there's no place like home, as they say. You're my home. And thank you for flying halfway across the world."
