Nicole Kidman Wears A Vintage Fendi Dress To 'Holland' Premiere
For the SXSW premiere of the thriller movie directed by Mimi Cave, the Babygirl actress did what so many other A-listers are doing these days and went down the vintage route, choosing a striped dress that was designed by Karl Lagerfeld for the Fendi Spring/Summer 2008 collection.
The dress had quite a lot going on – which was one of the things the internet didn't like – as it featured a tiered and transparent skirt, as well as a cropped cape over the shoulders.
The Lioness actress accessorized with black pointed toe heels and some subtle jewelry, including diamond pavé hoop earrings, diamond pavé rings, and a watch. Her hair was worn in a chic half up and half down do finished off with an elegant black bow, while her makeup was minimal but glowing.
Fan Comments
As we mentioned earlier, the look really divided the internet! "I want to like it but I just can't. The underskirt looks like it belongs to a different outfit & the thing around her neck reminds me of a frill necked lizard. I like the striped fabric, it could have been a really striking look," wrote one fan on Reddit.
"I just hate that underskirt thing," agreed a second, adding: "I'd rather see it gone or have the top skirt come down to the same length." "I would love this without the bottom skirt," concurred a third. "Looks like a shower curtain," slammed a fourth, as a fifth wrote: "There's just one too many things going on here for me." "How does a garment look too young and frumpy at the same time?" asked a sixth.
Others didn't agree, though. "Love it," wrote a seventh fan. "Stunning," gushed an eighth, as a ninth exclaimed: "I love this dress and Nicole is stunning as always!" "This is very cool," complimented another approving fan. "She always looks fabulous," praised another.
