According to the Oregonian, "Oregon Gov. Kate Brown allowed most retailers to stay open throughout the pandemic, but boutiques were among those required to close in March."
The article continued, "The governor lifted that order last month but Nordstrom, and a number of other prominent retailers, didn’t immediately reopen."
The retailer also detailed how they would prepare for reopening in a press release.
The statement explained that they would be conducting health screenings for their employees, providing face coverings for employees and customers, and taking steps to allow for and enforce proper social distancing of six feet or more.
They also are increasing cleaning and sanitation, alternating hours of operation, and adding dividers at registers.
Plus, stores will continue to offer "contactless curbside services at our full-line stores."
The press release also explains that all stores will not open at once, but will start opening based on state and local government recommendations and guidelines.
The company explained, "It really can't be said enough – your health, and the health of our employees, is our priority. And every decision we make is through that lens. We want to be sure the approach we're taking to reopen our stores is thoughtful, and that we're creating a store environment that's safe for everyone."
