It’s the day we’ve been waiting all summer for–Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale officially starts today with early access for Nordstrom Cardholder members. There’s just one little problem…Nordstrom’s website crashed during the very first day of the Anniversary Sale. Shoppers currently can’t checkout!
Online shoppers have been prepping and searching for weeks leading up to the massive annual sale. However, after the sale was pushed live, shoppers received frustration when trying to checkout instead of bargains.
In a message titled “Anniversary Sale Notice” posted at the top of Nordstrom’s website, says that the department store is having site and app issues.
“We are having site and app issues. You can still browse and add to bag, but temporarily can’t check out. Your bag will be saved and will update when available. Thanks for your patience!”
According to Nordstrom, early access customers can select merchandise, but cannot actually purchase it once it’s in their cart. Shoppers on Twitter are saying that items they searched for and add to their carts were actually deleted and no longer saved.
Nordstrom took to their Twitter account to apologize to shoppers for the trouble.
Some customers are having trouble checking out on our website and app. We are so sorry for the inconvenience, and our teams are working hard to fix the issue as quickly as possible. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Looking back at Nordstrom’s Twitter account shows the checkout problem during the Anniversary Sale has in fact happened before. See their tweet apologize to customers during last year’s mishap, published on July 13, 2017.
