Olivia Munn donned a head-turning strapless white dress to the 2024 Governor’s Awards last week, where she and her boyfriend John Mulaney made their red carpet debut as a couple.
While some fans on social media praised Munn’s striking gown for its modern peplum silhouette and elegant silky design, others criticized it, comparing it to a “napkin” and saying it looked “wrinkled.” Despite varying opinions, Munn’s chic outfit certainly captured attention.

At the January 9th event in Los Angeles, the X-Men: Apocalypse actress, 43, posed for photos with her comedian beau, 41, and she shared pics of them together on Instagram soon after.
In a new TikTok video, user @talkingtotequila created a discussion among fans about Munn's dress, deeming it to be the "perfect dress to kick off the 2024 awards season" due to its polarizing and eye-catching qualities.
"I freaking love [this dress]," the creator said in the video with a photo of Munn from the ceremony behind them, adding: "it's like a dang salt and vinegar chip [...] I like it and I don't know why and I keep eating it."
The user then acknowledged that other fans said Munn's frock "looked like a wrinkled-up bedsheet," but noted that they still liked it as they hadn't "seen something like it before."
In the comment section, one other fan wrote: "It gives me bedsheet vibes," to which the video creator replied: "That’s what ppl are saying but I love it."
On X (formerly Twitter) another fan quipped: "Someone get her a steamer" as someone else tweeted, beneath another snap of Munn's get-up: "Olivia Munn you could have ironed your dress."
Regardless, Munn was radiant and all smiles on the carpet, accessorizing her white number with a sparkly silver ring and minimal shiny earrings. As for her glam, the mom of one wore her brunette tresses down, parted in the center and styled sleek-straight.
For her makeup look, the Magic Mike alum went for glittery opal eyeshadow, thick black liner, sky-high lashes, rose-gold blush and a warm berry pink lipstick. Munn and Mulaney have been romantically linked since 2021, and share one 2-year-old son Malcolm.
The couple made headlines that year after the Saturday Night Live writer split with his wife of six years, Anna Marie Tendler, and rumors were swirling that Mulaney had cheated on Tendler with Munn.
Since then, Munn and Mulaney have denied the speculation and continue to share affectionate photos on Instagram, including pictures of their child and home life.
