If your phone can’t seem to hold its charge from morning until night, it’s time to make a few changes. There are steps you can take the minute you discover that your phone is beginning to die to save it from the ultimate fate of death. Tech Expert Atta Ur Rehman, content manager at Avidon Marketing Group, spoke to SHEFinds.com about the one thing you should try immediately if your iPhone battery is dying.

TURN ON AIRPLANE MODE

“There are a number of things one can do to prevent their iPhone from dying but one thing that tops the list is turning ON Airplane Mode,” Ur Rehman says. “This ends every form of wireless connection to your iPhone, making that last 1% of battery life last longer than usual. The only downside to turning this feature on is you cannot fetch emails, use the web or receive phone calls, but hey, at least your phone is alive and you earned yourself some extra time to find a source to charge it.”

A second tip that Ur Rehman says you can follow to prevent battery drainage and to save those last few percentages of battery life is to reduce screen brightness all the way down in combination with turning on Airplane Mode.

Don’t forget to limit data usage when your battery power drops.

“Out of all the battery-saving tips out there, I personally find reducing data usage highly effective especially if you own one of those older iPhone models or not plus-size models,” Ur Rehman says. “Therefore, whenever possible, limit or if not needed, entirely eliminate using data to ensure a full day battery life.”

Preventing fast battery drainage by limiting data usage is the perfect preventative step to take to keep your phone battery from draining, but if you do find yourself far away from a charger and in need of more battery power, turn on Airplane Mode, reduce screen brightness, and save your device from imminent battery death.
