Nothing is worse than being on a diet and watching every fast food and chain restaurant pass as you drive by. You’re thinking to yourself, “Well, it’s either I starve or ruin my healthy day.” Wrong! The problem is that you need to know where to go and what to order but trust me, there are healthy options everywhere even fast food places. For example, Chick-fil-A actually has a few healthier options so you don’t have to destroy your progress. Click to find out what you should eat at Chick-fil-A when you’re trying to eat healthily but need a quick bite to eat.

1. Grilled chicken garden salad
Amy Shapiro, RD, says to stick to the simplest options on the menu and skip the fried foods. I know that’s disappointing but the grilled chicken is a “better option for your waistline,” says Shapiro. Shapiro opts for the grilled chicken garden salad with the dressing on the side. Then, she only uses one to two tablespoons of it in order to keep the fat content and calories down. This is surprisingly filling and will definitely satisfy your hunger!

2. Waffle fries and fruit salad
Keri Gans, RDN, says, “I must admit that I don't like chicken, so I would order a small waffle fries (decadent, I know, but satisfying) and a large fruit salad.” She also suggests fruit for dessert “because you can never go wrong with that." Waffle fries and fruit salad are a good balance so you satisfy your craving without going overboard.

3. Grilled chicken sandwich
Christine Palumbo, RDN, recommends ordering the grilled chicken sandwich. “I felt good about it with the lettuce, tomato and multi grain bun, but I left the BBQ sauce off it to avoid all the sugar it contains.” Sarah Koszyk, RDN, says “For a classic order that won’t overdo it on calories, I'd suggest the Grilled Chicken Sandwich or Grilled Nuggets.” Shapiro also suggest the grilled nuggets because you get to “enjoy eating like a kid again–just without all the temptation and excess calories!” Overall, Chick-fil-A is a good fast food option because it offers foods that aren’t fried. It’s one place you want to stop when you’re on-the-go but be sure to make these healthy choices!
