Figuring out the best and most effective exercises for weight loss can be an overwhelming task. With so many different options out there, choosing what workout to try is difficult–and can quickly become very expensive.
Luckily, there are more affordable options out there that can be just as effective in seeing long term results.
According to Noa Shaw, fitness pro and Soul Cycle instructor, the best workout for weight loss involves using your own body weight to exercise.
He explains, "I'm a big believer in using your own body weight for working out. It has two benefits. Primarily, lifting weights increases your heart rate and burns fat. which is a great way to put yourself into a caloric deficit and lose weight."
He continues, "Secondarily, you can literally YouTube any workout and not have the hassle of joining a gym or grabbing a set of weights. You can do it anywhere anytime."
He's right. A quick google search can reveal tons of at-home workout options that require little to no equipment (except maybe a yoga mat), and advice from real fitness experts.
With that in mind, instead of stressing about which gym to join or fitness class to try, your best bet might be starting at home, using your own body weight to help you exercise.
