Just two days before rendering fans speechless in a figure-hugging purple Dolce & Gabbana gown at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday, December 3rd, Oprah Winfrey flaunted her 40-lb weight loss in another stunning – albeit slightly less sparkling – ensemble.
Winfrey, 69, looked incredible when she hosted a celebration for Lawmen: Bass Reeves executive producer and star David Oyelowo at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood on Friday, December 1st, wearing a gorgeous bodycon dress that flaunted her new svelte frame perfectly.

Oprah Winfrey Flaunts Her 40-Lb Weight Loss In Bodycon Dress
Winfrey hosted the event in the swanky LA hotel to promote Lawmen: Bass Reeves, the new Paramount + series from Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, which premiered last month. The event was attended by other big names such as Gayle King, Lupita Nyong’o, and Niecy Nash, among others – but we know fans will be talking about Oprah’s look for a long time.
For her red carpet appearance, Winfrey wore a brown figure-hugging dress, complete with long sleeves, a high neck, and a daring thigh-high side slit. She accessorized with Brunello Cucinelli kitten heel booties, which were fully on display thanks to the aforementioned slit, and a small clutch, as well as some statement drop earrings that could be seen through her glamorous and voluminous curls.
What Has Oprah Said About Her Weight Loss?
Winfrey's 40-lb weight loss was hard to ignore on the red carpet; and it has understandably been a hot topic of discussion for many months now. The talk show host has vehemently denied using controversial weight loss injections such as Ozempic and Wegovy to achieve her new trim frame, and it's likely that she wants fans to believe she lost weight through Weight Watchers, for which she is a partner and board member.
Back in September, Oprah sat down with a panel of weight loss experts for Oprah Daily's The Life You Want Class: The State of Weight, and talked about weight loss, body image, and the weight loss drugs that many celebs appear to be taking, whether they admit to it or not. And her thoughts on weight loss injections were very interesting!
"I don't know that there is another public person whose weight struggles have been exploited as much as mine," Oprah said on the panel, before calling the weight loss drugs "the easy way out." She added: "One of the things I carried so much shame for, and even when I first started hearing about the weight loss drugs, at the same time I was going through knee surgery and I felt, 'I've got to do this on my own because if I take the drug, that's the easy way out.'"
