Oprah Winfrey, 69, arrived at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in LA for the Academy Museum Gala in a gorgeous purple sequined gown on Saturday, and fans can’t get over how fit she looks. The flattering dress hugged the talk show host at the waist, showing off her slender frame, which she insists is au naturel—not a result of diabetic weight loss drug, Ozempic.
Oprah has been very open about her weight loss journey over the years and swears by the Weight Watchers program, which she sits on the board for. This past September, as the use of Ozempic by Hollywood stars increased, the media personality denied any use of the drug during her 40-pound weight loss, calling it “the easy way out.” Keep reading for more information.
Oprah Stuns In Slimming Purple Gown
The Dolce & Gabbana dress truly puts Oprah's slim figure on display, hugging her curves from the neck down to her knees, where it fans into a shimmery train. She added matching pointed heels that just peeked out from under the hem of the dress, and picked sparkly drop earrings to accessorize with. Her eye-makeup also channeled The Color Purple, with a lavender smokey eye.
Oprah's choice in clothing wasn't random—she wore the bright purple ensemble to celebrate the movie she's producing: The Color Purple. Oprah starred in the 1986 film, and is now producing alongside Steven Spielberg the newest adaptation, which premieres on Christmas Day. Oprah treated her nearly 23M Instagram followers to a snap of the gown, which she captioned, "It's a purple kind of night. Off to the @AcademyMuseum gala with my @TheColorPurple family."

Oprah Says Ozempic Is 'The Easy Way Out'
As part of her Oprah Daily's The Life You Want series, Oprah sat down with a panel of weight loss experts in September to talk about weight loss, obesity, body image, and briefly, weight loss drugs. "I don't know that there is another public person whose weight struggles have been exploited as much as mine," she said on the panel.
"One of the things I carried so much same for," she continued, "and even when I first started hearing about the weight loss drugs, at the same time I was going through knee surgery and I felt, 'I've got to do this on my own because if I take the drug, that's the easy way out.'"
Oprah has sung her praises of Weight Watchers in the past, as she is both a partner and a member of the board. She kicked off 2022 with an Instagram post that she hashtagged "#OprahandWW" and said, "Live the life you love, lose the weight you want. You know I love that WW encourages healthy habits and now it's even better!"
Fan Don't Quite Believe Oprah's Claims
Though we think Oprah was looking her best ever, fans had more to say about whether or not the star is on Ozempic than about her purple getup. In response to one tweet sharing the love for Oprah's purple look, one user wrote, "Ozempic will do that."
"Are we really supposed to believe that after battling her weight for 40 years, that suddenly, at 60+ years, she is thinner?" another person commented. "Of course she is using weight loss meds."
"Oh right, must be a coincidence she finally lost weight after decades of trying right when Ozempic came out..." a third commenter said.
"That's Ozempic & having 3 billion dollars," one person wrote.
"Just be honest," one person said. "You look great, but you're making people believe they can look that great by just using weight watchers when clearly you're on Ozempic or getting surgery."
