Oprah Winfrey put her trim figure, sculpted arms and slimmer physique on full display earlier last week for a Good Morning America appearance. The iconic multi-hyphenate, 70, looked chic in New York City while rocking a fitted deep purple sweater top with tan trousers and a matching belt around her tiny waist. The media mogul topped off her look with light brown heels.

This, as fans know, comes months after Winfrey opened up more about her 40-lb weight loss, revealing that she was “done with the shame” and took weight loss drugs to help get into her current shape. Winfrey appeared on the daytime talk show to promote her new book club read, Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout, a suspense novel. She later changed into comfy sneakers while chatting with and saying hello to fans.

As for her glam, the Wrinkle in Time actress opted for a shiny blowout with her glowing brunette tresses worn down, parted in the center and styled into elegant loose waves. Winfrey added shimmering gold bracelets, rings and statement earrings as well as oversized violet shades with a slight cat-eye shape. For her makeup look, the former talk show host rocked a glossy mauve pout.

Although Winfrey previously made headlines for denying ever taking weight loss drugs to slim down, she did confess to trying them in December 2023. She noted that her dramatic transformation was made possible through injections, but also with the help of hiking and exercising more often.

Back in September 2023 during an Oprah Daily panel, she denied any use of weight loss drugs: "Even when I first started hearing about the weight loss drugs," she explained, "at the same time I was going through knee surgery, and I felt, 'I've got to do this on my own.' Because if I take the drug, that's the easy way out."

However, three months later, Winfrey revealed that her perspective had changed. "I now use [weight loss drugs] as I feel I need it," she told People at the time. "As a tool to manage no yo-yoing," she continued, mentioning her weight fluctuations in recent years. "The fact that there's a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift," she said.

She added that she believed this was "not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for." She continued: "I'm absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself." Winfrey also revealed, as reported by The Daily Mail, that she was just seven pounds shy of her target weight of 160 lbs, though she emphasized that the journey is not solely about the numbers on the scale.

At her heaviest, Winfrey dished, she weighed 237 lbs. The businesswoman shared that her path to better health began after undergoing knee surgery in 2021, which spurred her commitment to living a more vibrant and energetic life. She now adopts several healthy habits, including eating her final meal by 4 p.m., consuming a gallon of water daily, and following WeightWatchers' point system, complemented by regular hiking.
