Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been engaged since 2019, but instead of hearing wedding bells, fans are seeing red flags. Reportedly, there are no plans in the works for a wedding, and according to an insider, it seems as if “they’ve stopped putting in the effort.”
Interestingly, according to the Lord of the Rings actor himself, he and the American Idol judge – who are parents to three-year-old daughter Daisy – make a “daily” choice to stay together rather than give up on their relationship and call off their engagement. On the April 19th episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, the 47-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean actor opened up about his relationship with the 39-year-old “Roar” singer, saying the pair make a “daily” choice to be together. And that’s something he really “admires”…
“She challenges me, I challenge her,” the Red Right Hand actor – who also shares 13-year-old son Flynn with former Victoria’s Secret Angel, Miranda Kerr – told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on the show. “I think we kind of just demand that we get up every day. ‘I choose you, today, tomorrow, or whatever, or you choose me,'” he continued, before saying the daily choice to be with each other is “one of the things I really admire in relationships.”
“As I’m getting [older], I’m like, ‘Oh wow’ – You know that somebody’s done the work if they stay together,” he added, before joking: “Sometimes it’s like, I know she looks at me [like, ‘Stay away!’ And I’m like, ‘Uh, okay…’ And it’s the same thing [for me.] ‘I’m going on a long walk, now! The dog needs to go!'”

Perry and Bloom have been engaged for years, but according to insiders, it doesn't look like there will be a wedding any time soon. While it was originally scheduled for early 2020, the couple had to postpone as the Covid-19 pandemic spread across the globe. But now that the world is getting back to normal, there are still no plans for them to walk down the aisle.
"Will there ever be a wedding? That's the million-dollar question right now," an insider recently told Life & Style, adding: "Especially since there don't appear to be any plans in the works."
Many fans think the couple could be headed for a breakup – again – and Katy's absence at the Golden Globes a few months ago only added fuel to the fire. After all, Katy and Orlando met at a Golden Globes after party in 2016, and Katy has fondly called the event their "anniversary" on social media. While Orlando presented an award at the ceremony, Katy was photographed snowboarding in Aspen.
"She wasn't happy about him ditching their getaway when he was suddenly asked to present at the awards show," an insider said of the situation. "But it's not the only red flag that has people thinking this could be the end for them."
Katy was also nowhere to be seen during Orlando's birthday celebrations back January. The actor posted a snap of him taking a dip in the hot tub surrounded by snow with friends with the caption, "Keepin' it cool. Thank you for the birthday wishes." Perhaps Katy just wasn't around when the picture was taken, but perhaps she wasn't there at all?

Katy and Orlando have had their fair share of relationship issues in the past. A little over a year after they started dating, they actually broke up for over a year. But, they reconciled in September 2018, and announced their engagement just months later.
Last year, Orlando actually opened up about their relationship issues in an interview with Flaunt Magazine, describing that he and Katy are "in two different pools." "Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands," he continued. "Sometimes things are really, really, really challenging. I won't lie."
But, even as these rumors rage, it doesn't appear to squash the affection between them. Katy Perry posted a fiery snap to Instagram back in February, a shot of her wearing an off-the-shoulder ruched top with revealing cutouts, and Orlando certainly loved the photo. "Wear that home babe," he commented, adding a fire emoji for good measure.
