Outshine No Sugar Added Strawberry Fruit Bars Recalled
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently announced a recall for Outshine No Sugar Added Strawberry Fruit Bars. This is a voluntary recall by Dreyers Grand Ice Cream, Inc, due to the fact that these fruit bars may contain an undeclared milk allergen, which could be dangerous for certain individuals with milk allergies and sensitivities.
The company believes that trace amounts could have ended up in these fruit bars, which were meant to be dairy-free, due to a faulty valve.
The recall includes 6-count packages of the fruit bars that were sold at Kroger in VA, WV, OH, and KY, as well as Shoprite in MD, PA, VA, and NJ; and Wal-Mart in AR, MO, TN, MS, KY, AL, and LA.
If you recently bought this product and have it in your freezer, you can check the "Best By" date and batch number in order to see if you quality for a refund. Affected products will have a "Best By" date of 09/30/2024 and batch numbers (which can be found under the "Best By" date) of LLA317822 and LLA317922.
If your product fits this description, you should either throw it out or return it to the store at which you bought it for a full refund. No other Outshine products have been recalled.
Luckily, there are no reported illnesses from these products at this time. However, staying on top of recent recalls is one good way to ensure your safety. Better safe than sorry!
