Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Oats

Perfectly in line with the fall season, Trader Joe’s pumpkin overnight oats is a great option for a nutritious and filling breakfast. Ilana notes its clean ingredients, which include water, pumpkin puree, dates, rolled oats, almond butter, cinnamon, sea salt, and nutmeg.

“There’s 6 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein,” she notes, recommending, “You should have this every morning for breakfast.” (Plus, it’s only 200 calories!).

To boost the protein content even more, she recommends adding a dollop of Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. Her verdict? A solid 9.5/10. “This is excellent,” she concludes.

The bottom line

In general, it's best to stick to overnight oats that you can either make yourself or ones that have clean ingredients with no additives or preservatives, such as this one from Trader Joe's. Most commercially made overnight oats and even yogurt have a ton of hidden sugars and preservatives that don't do you any favors when it comes to overall health and weight management. These sugars can quickly spike up your blood sugars in the morning, leading to a crash in energy levels later in the day and increased cravings for unhealthy snacks. Sticking to homemade or clean-ingredient overnight oats helps ensure you’re fueling your body with natural, nutrient-dense foods!

Other fun fall items in her haul included a pumpkin cold brew. She added some liquid stevia and almond milk to the cold brew, saying, "You do not have to get a super sugary pumpkin spice latte. This is a 10!"

If you’re into savory snacks, she recommends trying their corn tortilla chips. Shaped likes leaves and colored in festive fall shades of red, orange, and yellow, they perfectly capture the autumn vibe! "I love that they have 2 grams of fiber," she says, adding that they hardly taste like pumpkin, "they taste exactly like Sun Chips!” She admits that because they’re “addicting,” it's important to eat this snack in moderation since it has 14 servings in the bag.

We'll be sure to try all these autumn goodies!
