Seems like the Kardashians aren’t the only ones unamused by Kanye West’s recent behavior, as Pete Davidson has now been forced to take extra measures to guarantee his safety following the release of Ye’s latest track. If you’ll recall, the 44-year-old rapper released his new single, “My Life Was Never Eazy” on Friday, January 14th, and in the song, he literally references the 28-year-old Saturday Night Live star by name and threatens to beat him. Ye raps: “God saved me from that crash/ Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s [expletive.]”
Although Kim Kardashian’s new beau isn’t necessarily threatened by Ye, per se, he is reportedly somewhat concerned about what Ye’s fans might do after listening to his song, which is why he has hired a security team (for the first time in his life!) for added protection. “Pete isn’t worried about Kanye, but he is concerned about the massive fanbase that Kanye has,” a source told RadarOnline. “His devoted followers listen to his songs and act upon them. That’s why Pete is now using security.”
"Until recently Pete never had security with him when he was out and about, even when he was engaged to Ariana Grande. But dating Kim is a totally different level of fame," the source continued. "Pete is now a superstar, which comes with a price. As much as he still wants to be low-key and hang with his friends, the reality of his situation has changed."
Pete's friends also echoed this, with a separate insider telling RadarOnline: "Pete isn’t taking any chances. Whenever he is out with Kim, they use her security. But now Pete needs his own security when he is out alone. He is still Pete, but now Pete comes with a 6’1, 220 lbs security guard."
Despite the threats, Davidson is reportedly taking all of this in his stride, as sources have insisted that he is seeing the funny side. "Pete thinks it’s totally hilarious," a source close to the Staten Island native told Page Six. "Not just that – he thinks the whole [tabloid drama] is hilarious. He loves it. It’s funny to him that the press wants to know his every move all of a sudden."
And Ye wouldn’t be happy to hear that his song seems to have had the reverse effect, as it's reportedly brought his estranged ex-wife and her new boyfriend even closer together! "The whole craziness with Kanye last week has brought Kim and Pete closer," a separate source spilled to Page Six.
