The iPhone’s ability to take an amazing photo is a major one of its selling points. But, as easy and intuitive as it is to take photos and edit them on your phone, there are some mistakes you could be making that are actually slowing your device down. Tech Expert Rony Jahid, owner of resettips.com, weighs in with the most common photo app mistakes that people make that could be slowing down your iPhone.

Not Updating Apps Regularly:

Many iPhone users don’t realize that their photo apps need to be updated regularly in order to remain secure, efficient, and up to date, Jahid reminds us. “If you’re not regularly updating your photo apps, they could be taking up more memory and resources on your device, making it run slower and decreasing its performance,” Jahid said.

Not Backing Up Photos:

“Not backing up your photos is another mistake that could be slowing down your iPhone,” Jahid said. “When you don’t back up your photos, you risk losing them if something happens to your device. It’s important to back up your photos to the cloud or an external hard drive so that you don’t lose them if something happens to your device.”

Not Deleting Unused Apps:

While you’re backing up important photos, don’t forget to delete unused apps on your device. “Keeping unused apps on your device can also slow it down,” Jahid said. “Unused apps can take up valuable memory and resources, so it’s important to delete any unused apps to improve your device’s performance.”

Using Too Many Filters:

“Filters are a great way to add an artistic effect to your photos, but using too many can slow down your iPhone, or even crash the app,” Jahid said. “Try to limit the number of filters you use for each photo, and avoid adding too many effects.”

Using Third-Party Apps:

Third-party apps can be great for editing photos, but they can also slow down your phone if they are not optimized properly. “Be sure to check the reviews and ratings of any third-party apps you use to make sure they are optimized for your phone,” Jahid said.

By avoiding these common photo app mistakes, Jahid says you can keep your iPhone running smoothly and efficiently. “Take the time to update your photo apps regularly, back up your photos, delete unused apps, and optimize storage to ensure your device is running at its best,” Jahid said.
