Back in March 2021, Sharon Osbourne left CBS’ The Talk after facing backlash for defending Piers Morgan’s inflammatory comments about Meghan Markle. Now the controversial pair are teaming up to work on a new project together, as it was announced last Thursday that Osbourne will be joining Morgan on his show, Talk TV.

Morgan and Osbourne have a years-long friendship but are now taking the relationship professional with the 69-year-old presenter set to join the program this spring. Taking to social media last week to announce the news, Morgan said in a video, “What I’m really looking for in my co-workers at Talk TV is somebody who is, well, a bit like me. Very opinionated, fearless, funny, knows their own mind, not afraid to speak it, unpredictable, maybe a little bit dangerous. But also somebody who every time opens their gobby little mouth, it makes global news.”

The video continues with Osbourne entering the frame and saying, “Uh, where do I sign, Piers?” Osbourne is set to take over a current affairs segment on the program, and this will be her return to television after leaving CBS’ The Talk early last year.

Osbourne’s leave came nearly a year ago to the day after publicly supporting Morgan when he made distasteful comments that ended in his storming off the set of the show Good Morning Britain. In March of last year following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah in which the duchess revealed that bullying made her suicidal, Morgan went on to discredit her claims, saying “I don’t believe a word she says.”

However, in response to the backlash Morgan received, Osbourne tweeted, “I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth.” It was this support, as well as old racism allegations made by former co-host Holly Robinson Peete that saw Osbourne leave The Talk after 11 seasons.
