The whole world seems to have an opinion on the Chinese spy balloon that entered Alaskan airspace on January 28th and was shot down by a U.S. fighter jet just off the coast of South Carolina on February 4th; and Piers Morgan – one of the most opinionated journalists in the public eye, we think we can all agree – was all too keen to share his!

The Biden administration as a whole has been widely criticized for its delayed response to the Chinese surveillance flight traveling over the U.S. (including over sensitive military sites) as many people have slammed the delayed and reluctant takedown, saying the response has cost the president “trust” on the international stage.

Piers Morgan Says Delayed Chinese Spy Balloon Response Has Cost The Biden Administration 'Trust'

Speaking on Fox & Friends on Monday, February 6th ahead of the State of the Union Address, the 57-year-old Piers Morgan Uncensored host seemed to hint that 80-year-old President Joe Biden's age may have some part to play in his "underwhelming" performance in office, saying: "You see a guy who has shown discernible evidence that he is feeling his age. This is a man in his eighties, who is already the oldest American president ever, that doesn't instill much confidence when he keeps forgetting his words."

"He keeps going back on things he said before. He denies what we've seen him say with his own mouth. It doesn't instill confidence," Morgan continued. "Add to that the debacle of the Afghanistan withdrawal. Add to that, certainly in the U.K., a complete freezing of the so-called special relationship. There's no trade deal. There's no real ongoing relationship at all with our two great countries."

"I think certainly from the U.K. perspective, I think he's been very underwhelming," he added. "Now we have this extraordinary spectacle of watching from afar as a Chinese balloon just seems to go over America for a week with complete impunity. We're all thinking, 'What the [expletive] is going on here?' So I think Biden's big issue on the foreign stage is trust."

Piers Morgan Joe Biden

Piers Morgan Previously Talked About President Joe Biden's 'Weakness'

In July last year, Morgan talked about Biden’s "weakness" in a conversation about then British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s resignation. On Fox & Friends, Morgan noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin must be very pleased with Johnson’s resignation, saying: "The one person loving all this chaos in the U.K. and the U.S., and all the uncertainty is Vladimir Putin. This all plays right into his hands. This is what he wants to see. Countries that should be united to stop this rampage in Ukraine [are] actually splintering into complete chaos and a vacuum of leadership. This is a really bad time for us to be going through this."

He then went to talk about "the situation in America right now, with a very weak president [and] an even weaker vice president." Yikes! He even questioned Biden’s ability to "even get through his first term," which he said would likely excite the Russian president as well. "If you’re Putin, you’re licking your lips at all of this," Morgan said.

Morgan’s jabs at Biden followed a string of other comments about the POTUS. In an interview with Fox & Friends the month before, the British journalist shared his thoughts on Biden’s approval rating. According to an NBC News survey that was reported by Fox News, results show that the president had an approval rating of 39 percent, while his disapproval rating was 56 percent. Fox & Friends co-host Will Cain even pointed out, "That’s essentially inverse from where he was one year ago (April 2021). It flipped. It’s tanking, Piers."

When asked for his opinion as to why this was happening, Morgan replied, "Well, it’s a complete disaster as a presidency so far and he’s running out of time to fix it. You know Joe Biden was supposed to be this great unifying president, replacing the chaotic Trump era as the democrats saw it. He was gonna calm things down. Bring the country together. I don’t think America has ever felt more divided, frankly. So he’s failed on that – his first ambition that he had."

Morgan continued to say that he thought the way Biden was handling the country domestically and internationally was "deeply flawed. They’re not helping the economy. They’re clearly making things worse." As for President Biden’s reputation in the United Kingdom, Morgan emphasized that "it’s embarrassing" and "he seems to be asleep at the wheel." Morgan clarified that he likes Biden personally but "he’s nothing like the firebrand senator of 25, 30 years ago."

Piers Morgan Previously Attacked Joe Biden's Foreign Policy

Morgan’s attacks on the president didn’t stop there, as he continued to bash him and some of what have sometimes been described as confusing and contradictory policies on the Monday, May 23rd episode of Fox & Friends. Morgan’s comments were regarding Biden’s latest comments about where the White House stood in relation to China and Taiwan, after Biden insisted that the U.S. would be willing to send the military to defend the self-governing island of Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.

Biden’s comments came following a question about Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine, where a reporter asked the president: "You didn’t want to get involved in the Ukraine conflict militarily for obvious reasons. Are you willing to get involved militarily to defend Taiwan if it comes to that?" To which Biden responded very bluntly, "Yes. That’s the commitment we made." A White House official also stood by the president and confirmed this in a statement afterwards, writing: "As the president said, our policy has not changed. He reiterated our One China Policy and our commitment to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. He also reiterated our commitment under the Taiwan Relations Act to provide Taiwan with the military means to defend itself."

And as you can imagine, the former Good Morning Britain presenter had many thoughts! "I think someone should tell President Biden what the policy is because the White House says he stuck to longtime policy, but he clearly hasn’t," Morgan said on Fox & Friends. "Longtime policy has not been that the U.S. would engage directly militarily if China invades Taiwan. It’s always been strategic. Ambiguity has been the policy. They’ve never committed to doing that."

He continued: "So President Biden once again has said something public about a big foreign policy situation, which has dramatic repercussions. And the White House has to immediately, they’re sort of walking it back, aren’t they? But then they say, we’re not walking it back. They try and pretend what we’ve just heard him say is not what he just said and we’ve had this all year. I just think it’s a sort of crazy situation where the leader of the free world keeps making these pronouncements."
