To discuss Liam's death, Morgan called together Howie Mandel, X-Factor alum Katie Waissel, radio host James Barr, and Esther Krakue. Morgan started off right away by announcing that many different types of hard drugs had been found in Liam's system at the time of his death. Katie went on to talk about how shows like The X Factor or America's Got Talent should place more emphasis on participants' mental health.

"When it comes to participants on those types of shows myself," Katie said, 'there is a legal and moral duty of care, which should be upheld and adhered to." Esther then countered, "When these people are becoming famous and they're getting the money that they want. But when you have the dark side of fame, that apparently becomes everyone else's fault."

Liam Payne's Fans Shame Piers Morgan

Many fans are now calling out Morgan for even having this so-called discussion about Liam Payne's death, and are accusing him of victim blaming. "This interview was disgusting!" one person wrote online. "You could obviously see how upset James Barr and Katie were after losing Liam & you went on the attack to protect your friend. You should be ashamed of that interview!"

"Do better... You should know better than to blame the victim," one person wrote.

"Yes a dark side of fame, but no not suddenly it is everyones fault," explained another. "Fans/public have known for a while how terrible the industry is. We have spoken out many times before. Liam is just the current artist to have something tragic happen. So many have passed under suspicious causes."
