This post, originally titled, ‘Piers Morgan Slams Meghan Markle’s New Interview On Twitter: ‘Shameless And Shameful’ has been updated since its initial 09/05/22 publish date to include more information following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
While the world is grieving the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, Piers Morgan is still prioritizing any and all chances to attack Meghan Markle on Twitter. While Morgan shared respectful and heartfelt words about the Queen and King Charles III on his Talk TV show, on September 9th, the frequent Sussex critic, 57, found yet another moment to bash Markle. It all started when CNN tweeted an article with the following caption, “Following the death of the Queen, Harry and Meghan’s children have become His Royal Highness Prince Archie of Sussex and Her Royal Highness Princess Lilibet of Sussex.”
Morgan replied to this, writing, “REMINDER: Princess Pinocchio told the world on Oprah that her son was barred from being a Prince because of his skin colour.” Twitter users immediately headed to his reply thoughts to point out that Markle never accused the Queen of this, and that “now is not the time” to be talking about his many qualms with Markle. Another user commented, “Even now you’re talking about her?? Sad little man” as someone else wrote, “She didn’t say that. She said they were looking to change the patent to deny Archie the title.”

Markle made headlines this week after appearing at Windsor Castle shortly after the Queen’s death to greet fellow mourners. She joined her husband Prince Harry, his brother Prince William and wife Kate Middleton (Now the Prince and Princess of Wales) even despite a rumored rift between the brothers. The moment has been deemed “heartwarming to see” and many have expressed on Twitter that they hope “they can all stick together as a family.” While Morgan has yet to share his thoughts on the long-awaited and surprising sight of the foursome, it is highly likely he would have some negative takeaway.

A few weeks back, Markle sat down for a tell-all interview with The Cut regarding her life with Harry in California, and naturally, Morgan had a lot to say about it. The television personality recently took to Twitter to comment on the retired Suits star’s profile, and deemed her words to be “shameless and shameful,” among other things.

In her first major interview of 2022, Markle, 41, opened up about her current relationship with the royal family, finally feeling able to speak more about her experiences, and what the strained relationship between the Sussexes and husband Harry‘s family could mean looking forward. With this piece arriving just a few days after the debut of Markle’s long-awaited Spotify podcast Archetypes, the piece went viral on Twitter soon after being published.

On August 29th, Morgan replied to The Cut‘s official tweet containing the cover story, and wrote, “Even by Markle standards, this is a revoltingly self-aggrandising, disingenuous & hypocritical load of royal-bashing tosh.” He continued, “The Mandela anecdote alone had me gagging.” Morgan seemed irked most of all by Markle speaking about her royal history, and The Cut referring to her as the ‘Duchess of Sussex,’ adding, “How dare she use her title to keep trashing the institution that gave it to her? Shameless & shameful.”

In a follow-up tweet the next day, Morgan tweeted images of newspapers with cover stories featuring Markle and Harry. He wrote, “How much more fork-tongued mud-slinging crap are the Royals going to take from Princess Pinocchio before the Queen strips her and her halfwit doormat husband of the titles they are exploiting so cynically to the highest bidders?” And he didn’t stop there, adding, “It’s such an outrageous abuse of royal status.”

While some of Morgan’s followers expressed that they “agreed” with him in his reply section and tweeted thumbs up emojis to show this, others urged him to “move on from his obsession” with Markle and asked him why he “needs to comment on literally everything she does.” (No, really!)
