More than two decades ago, the ‘Big New Yorker’ pizza offering from Pizza Hut became a fan-favorite item due to its huge size, New York inspiration and extra cheesy taste.
While it was only available at Pizza Hut chain locations for a brief time in 1999, customers have never forgotten, and been asking for the return of the cult classic ever since.
Now, many fans of the fast food joint are overjoyed to learn that the ‘Big New Yorker’ will be brought back for a limited time, beginning February 1st.

Pizza Hut Brings Back The 1999 ‘Big New Yorker’ PizzaFor those who may not recall the legendary 90s menu item, the ‘Big New Yorker’ is a 16-inch pizza featuring six oversized, delectable and foldable slices. This makes it— as CNN writes— “30% bigger than the large-sized pizza” currently sold at Pizza Hut.
In a recent press release, Pizza Hut described their ‘Big New Yorker’ as being “inspired by the spirit of New York with an XL pizza that is as big and bold as the city that never sleeps.”
The pizza is made with marinara sauce, extra cheese and seasoning to “mimic authentic New York pizzeria build,” the chain noted. Toppings include double pepperoni or another topping of your choice with prices beginning at $13.99.
Ever since the ‘Big New Yorker’ disappeared from the Pizza Hut menu, fans have not been shy when it comes to professing their love for it, and demanding that the company bring it back.
There’s even a Change.org petition begging the chain to reinstate the ‘Big New Yorker,’ and it currently has nearly 4,000 signatures. “It was the only good pizza that Pizza Hut ever offered,” one signatory wrote, as another added, “I need this for my soul.”
After news broke that the ‘Big New Yorker’ will soon make its long-awaited return, Pizza Hut fans headed to Twitter to share their excitement:
Mark your calendars for February 1st, pizza lovers!
