Snacking has become a normal part of our lives and a way to pass time while we indulge in our cravings. Snacks offer us convenience, a quick round of energy boost, a break from our routine, and are always available somewhere nearby (think snack pantries at work or home and vending machines). Not to mention our hectic schedules that sometimes throw off our meal breaks and cause us to reach for the snack drawer for a quick, tasty treat.
However, as we indulge in these snacks, there are a few factors that are causing negative effects for our overall health. Since snacking has become so common, these effects accumulate, and we start to feel the aftermath of our snacking habits. Some of these effects include inflammation, bloating, and weight gain.
